A reading from Psalm 31

1 In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
 let me never be put to shame;
 deliver me in your righteousness.
2 Turn your ear to me,
 come quickly to my rescue;
be my rock of refuge,
 a strong fortress to save me.
3 Since you are my rock and my fortress,
 for the sake of your name lead and guide me.
4 Keep me free from the trap that is set for me,
 for you are my refuge.
5 Into your hands I commit my spirit;
 deliver me, Lord, my faithful God.

15 My times are in your hands;
 deliver me from the hands of my enemies,
 from those who pursue me.
16 Let your face shine on your servant;
 save me in your unfailing love.

Psalm 31: 1–5 & 15–16
NIV®

Save us all, O Lord, in your unfailing love.
Our prayers this evening are for all God’s children throughout the world.
Faithful God, we pray that all who turn to you will find refuge;
grant they may know your righteous deliverance.
Loving God, hear all those cry to you,
rescue them and grant them refuge.
We pray that you will guide us all,
and steer us away from all the pitfalls we so easily fall into
when we do not follow you.

This night we commend our spirits to our faithful God.
Dear Lord, let you face shine on all your servants,
whom you ever save with your unfailing love.

We end our prayers this evening by saying the Grace together:

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the love of God
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit
be with us all, evermore.

Amen
