Evening Prayers Sunday, 19 April 2020

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.

1 Peter 1: 3–4

Living God, long ago, faithful women proclaimed the good news of Jesus’ resurrection, and the world was changed for ever. Teach us to keep faith with them, that our witness may be as bold, our love as deep, and our faith as true.

Amen

Loving God, we thank you, that during these strange times we are still able to meet as your Church. We thank you that this website has given us the chance for all our congregations to meet together, so that this evening, instead of a few of us in the Chapel, a much larger group is meeting together with you in prayer.

We pray for all who are anxious –
Lord, give them your peace.
We pray for all who are sick –
Lord, lay your healing hand on them.
We pray for all who feel lonely and isolated –
Lord, may they know the comfort of your presence.

Challenge us, Lord, to see the blessings you have given us in this time:
Time to reflect, time to appreciate our homes, time to get closer to one another through telephone conversations and emails.
We thank you, Lord, for time to slow down and take stock.

Bless us all, all those we love, and grant us peace in our hearts and minds.

For the sake of your Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Amen
