Cornerstone News: Covid-19 information
The Chapel is now open for private prayer 10.00 am – 12.00 noon Monday–Friday. Only one person or household group at a time will be admitted to the Chapel for private prayer. There is limited waiting room in Reception, so others may be asked to wait outside the building.
It is planned that Sunday worship in the building will resume at 10.00 am on Sunday, 6 September 2020, with several new practices in place to keep things as safe as possible. Online services will continue for the foreseeable future.
Meanwhile, following the recommendations of all our denominational churches, public worship at the Church of Christ the Cornerstone continues to be suspended.
Cornerstone Shop and Café
The Shop has been open for two weeks now, with a trickle of customers. The Café will not open until September, when hopefully we will be able to work in a more manageable way than the current social distancing.
Please let me remind you that any profit the Shop and Café make goes towards maintaining our church. When you return you will see that we have taken the opportunity during the Covid lockdown to carry out some major improvements throughout the Church Building.
A welcome awaits you in the refurbished shop!!

Donating to Cornerstone during lockdown
Letter from the Finance & Resources Committee:
Church of Christ the Cornerstone – May 2020
We would like to say a very big ‘thank you’ to everyone for your kindness in supporting the church during these difficult financial times.
- Thank you to everyone who is continuing to donate through the Parish Giving and Bankers’ Order Schemes.
- Thank you to those of you in the weekly envelope scheme who are putting your money in the envelopes as usual each week, and saving them to bring when the building reopens.
- And a very special thank you to those members of the weekly envelope scheme who have already made payments to us by on-line / telephone banking or by sending cheques. We have received nearly £3000 through this in the last 4 weeks.
We are just about managing to pay all our bills at the moment but any freewill offerings you’re able to send us each month would still be very much appreciated.
A new way to donate to us
We have opened a new charity deposit account to safely receive on-line or telephone banking donations. The account is with Metro Bank. The details you need to donate are:
Name of Account: ‘Ecumenical Partnership of Christ the Cornerstone Milton Keynes’
(apologies it’s so long, but it has to be our official charity name!)
Sort Code: 23-05-80
Account number: 37995851
Please use your name for the payment reference, then we know who the money is from and can claim gift-aid if appropriate.
Other ways to donate
If you would like to pay by cheque, please make it payable to ‘Church of Christ the Cornerstone’ and post to:
The Treasurer, c/o 13 Ibstone Avenue, Bradwell Common, Milton Keynes, MK13 8EA.
If you have already started making on-line payments to our main bank account, please continue to do so, if this is convenient for you.
For any other information about freewill offerings, please e-mail Janet, our stewardship secretary at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you again. And every best wish to you during these difficult times.
Janet (Stewardship Secretary)
Peter (Acting Treasurer)
Raphael (Chair of Finance Committee)
